.......Are
you constantly concerned that your network is vulnerable
to unauthorized access or attack?
I.T. Less approach to our client's computer network systems
is straight-forward: focus on technologies that are needed
and protect those technologies from vulnerabilities. I.T.
Less focus on protection and vulnerability management yields
three major areas of concern: backup solutions, virus protection
and firewall/security. Our approach in other words is: purchase
and use only what you need and protect the investment. A
proven backup solution, solid virus protection and a firewall
is the bare minimum of needs to ensure protection from disaster,
hacking and virus threats.
.......Firewall
protection is one of the most important pieces to the network
vulnerability puzzle. Although your business may not be
a target by any person or entity from a hacking standpoint;
it is the untargeted, brute-force broadcasts that hackers
unleash that can cause the most serious problems. Some examples
of stray packets found frequently in the logs of firewalls
are Denial of Service Attacks, Pings of Death and Sub Seven
attacks.
Firewalls keep you network protected from unauthorized access.
When you connect a computer to the public internet, you
immediately become vulnerable. Firewalls restrict network
access to unauthorized users, but also unauthorized applications.
Although our firewall security recommendations are based
on network types, number of users, additional services needed
(such as Virtual Private Networks); many companies can be
adequately protected at a fraction of the cost that is normally
anticipated. I.T. Less's focus is on a particular sized
networks allow a concentration on certain types of firewalls.
I.T. Less most frequently installs and manages appliance-based
firewalls for companies with fewer than 20 users and commonly
installs server-based firewalls for larger companies.
.......The
majority of our staff experience and certifications are
centered on appliance-based products such as Symantec®,
Cisco PIX® or 3Com® products. Our server-based products
include Microsoft Internet Security Accelerator Server®
(ISA Server®) and Checkpoint® products.
